Is Fascial Fitness Training Right For Me or my Child?

Are you looking for a fitness routine that also is specifically designed to train your body's fascia system so you can stay injury free and enjoy movement? Do you or your child have a injury, disability, or health condition that requires a more holistic approach and nervous system oriented approach?  Are you looking for healthier ways to train your entire body that helps you prevent, support, and repair your body??

What is Fascia?

Fascia, which was for the longest time neglected in musculoskeletal medicine, may now be considered one of the most essential things to consider when training for injury prevention and performance.  Fascia is considered the richest and most important sensing organ that helps make up our body and physical space. It is a body-wide interconnected tension network that exists in between every part of our body and helps us to efficiently transmit forces during movement. Fascia also helps us maintain good upright posture and maintain resting muscle tone when it healthy. It even has the capacity to operate independently of the muscular system, making it an very special organ for us to train with wanting to enhance movement performance and connective tissue health.

More Benefits of Fascia Training:

Along with injury prevention, improved health, and increased energy, fascia training due to it's deeply rooted connections with autonomic nervous system, also has the ability to help change how we perceive and work with pain as well as reduce symptoms often caused by musculoskeletal imbalances and central nervous disturbances.

Fascia Fitness is also easy to learn and the exercises are fun to do given their allowance of variation and creativity. Where more conventional training often has strict rules and forms to follow, once foundational lessons are understood, fascia fitness actually encourages self-exploration, creativity, and variation to be incorporated. This makes this type of training wonderful for children and adults that may have a more artistic or curious mind.

Whether you are looking to bring the benefits of fascia fitness more into your child's life or your own, we will work with you in ways to create a plan that works with your schedule and learning style.  Training your Fascia System is a fairly new concept to our fitness and medical field, but is already beginning to show strong promise as something that will be sticking around for time to come given it's ability to help maintain and enhance health and performance at all levels of our body. We love fascia and are excited to share the stories that continue to be told by those, especially children ad families, who bring fascia fitness into their lives. Please reach out, let us know how we can help you get started becoming more connected with your body's fascia system through training!

How is Fascia Training Different From Conventional Fitness Training?

Fascia training targets your connective tissue network.  Common fascia we of hear about is Plantar Fascia, Thoracolumbar Fascia, or Iliotibial Band Fascia.  Even though these are most common areas where fascia exists, your fascial network extends well beyond these muscles and also into all your tendons, ligaments, joint capsules, and enveloping structures of muscles and organs. Where may programs focus on training musculoskeletal, we highlight for you and focus exclusively on your body's fascia system and deep interconnected relationships with nervous system.

Through specific exercises and techniques, you will learn how to stimulate and train your body's fascial system in ways that allow the creation of a silk-like body suit that is strong, unbreakable, highly elastic, that glides smoothly, and provides a new level of awareness and support for your body. Unlike muscular strength training - in which big gains occur in beginning - fascia changes more slowly but results last much longer. Working from head to toe and skin to core, you can expect to feel immediate mood enhancing changes when using these techniques as well as long lasting bodily changes that occur around 6 months to 24 months. Training as little as one to two days per week and for only a few minutes is all that is required for healthy fascia remodeling!

This training can be incorporated into any existing training program such as yoga, running, personal training, Pilates, etc. and tends to complements these types of movement based activities quite well. We offer consulting, program design, and personalized one-to-one fascia fitness training to individuals at different fitness levels, including sports, artists, and special populations with chronic medical conditions.
